The Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) Facility, a flagship EU and UNDP initiative, needed a more efficient and reliable WordPress platform to serve policymakers, city leaders, and regional stakeholders. Gigalabs modernized the website, enhancing performance, navigation, and multilingual support while simplifying content management. The upgraded platform supports stakeholders across five countries in accessing information quickly and with greater reliability.
They were dealing with slow load times, random crashes, and bugs like broken menus, overlapping text, and videos that wouldn’t play. These recurring issues made the site frustrating to use and eroded trust among visitors.
Because the site was custom built, their team had to rely on developers for basic changes. This dependency slowed them down and created communication gaps.
Outdated and redundant plugins dragged down performance and opened vulnerabilities, including CORS issues, while weak safeguards left sensitive data exposed.
The Library and News sections lacked tagging, filtering, and search, making it harder for stakeholders to find relevant content.
English content wasn’t syncing properly with other languages, and the mobile site failed to deliver the same experience as desktop.
They struggled to keep translations consistent and accurate, confusing non-English stakeholders and weakening accessibility.
We began with a full assessment and restructured the website to create a cleaner, more intuitive experience for stakeholders.
Removed outdated plugins, patched vulnerabilities, and resolved recurring bugs to strengthen site performance and reliability.
Introduced a global search bar with improved tagging and filtering, turning the Library and News into reliable, accessible resources.
We synchronized updates across all language versions and improved translation accuracy to ensure consistency.
The mobile site was rebuilt to match desktop functionality, giving stakeholders a full experience across devices.
Simplified content management, provided training, and delivered documentation so the UNDP team could update the site independently.
Stakeholders can now retrieve key resources quickly, reducing delays in decision-making.
Policymakers, city leaders, and regional teams interact more actively with the platform.
The communications team can update and publish content independently without developer support.
Users can easily find relevant news, grants, and learning materials, increasing program visibility.
All language versions are synchronized, ensuring accurate information across regions.
City leaders and field teams can access the platform effectively on mobile devices, supporting engagement on the go.
